As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I can provide personal therapy at a special discounted rate to psychology students looking to fulfill their supervised professional experience (SPE) requirements.
In the state of California, students are required to meet specific standards before becoming licensed as a marriage and family therapist. In addition to the educational requirements, a license applicant must have completed 3,000 hours of supervised experience. Under licensing requirements, the MFT in training is allowed up to 1,250 hours of non-counseling work experience, which includes personal psychotherapy received.
