Leanne Richter has spent the last ten years as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) working with children and families in Los Angeles County.

Leanne received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Clinical Psychology with Emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy from Pepperdine University.

Leanne enjoys creating materials that help clinicians make therapy fun and meaningful. She has an interest in utilizing evidence-based practices in community mental health that have research to support that they are effective in helping people.

Leanne is the co-author of several children's books that explore important themes such as expressing feelings and coping with the stressors of daily life.

  • Accredited Triple P Practitioner: The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program is one of the most effective evidence-based parenting programs in the world. Triple P gives parents simple and practical strategies to help them build strong, healthy relationships, confidently manage their children’s behavior and prevent problems developing.

  • Trained CBITS Practitioner: The Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS) program is a school-based, group and individual intervention. It is designed to reduce symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and behavioral problems, and to improve functioning, grades and attendance, peer and parent support, and coping skills.

  • Trained Matrix Model Practitioner: The Matrix Model Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program includes several key components that complement each other and combine to produce an integrated outpatient treatment experience. It is a useful protocol that has been used to treat thousands of methamphetamine, alcohol, and other substance-abusing patients.

  • Licensed, clinical member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), which is dedicated to maintaining high standards of professional ethics and to upholding the qualifications for the profession.
